Dwan Kelsey is a 1993 graduate of Winston-Salem State University, Winston-Salem, NC with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She was employed for 4 years as a Registered Nurse at Wake Med Hospital, Raleigh, NC in the Rehabilitation Department and Nephrology.  Ms. Kelsey continued her education at Duke University and in 1999 was awarded a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in HIV/Oncology.  She has been employed as the HIV nurse at the N.C. Women’s Prison in Raleigh, NC.  As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in internal medicine, advanced education and research.  While on the faculty at the University of North Carolina, School of Nursing/Medicine, she assisted in publishing research on the Effectiveness of Biofeedback in Women with Urinary Incontinence.

In 2008, Ms. Kelsey opened her practice, wellLIFE: A Diabetes Clinic & Educational Resource Center in Raleigh, NC. The clinic has been successful in changing people’s lives through clinical management, education and support. In 2010, she launched wellLIFE House Calls to deliver primary care to clients in their homes.

Ms. Kelsey’s professional memberships include the American Diabetes Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Carolina Female Healthcare Network. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
